Downtown Moves Forward

For years we have been dedicated to the improvement of Downtown Las Vegas as well as our own property. We take pride in the idea that we are helping build something bigger than ourselves. When Emergency Arts was opened in our Fremont Medical building our hopes began to soar about what downtown was becoming. We also renovated The Ogden House (the motel not the new condominiums) and turned it into the Cabana Suites as we brought a little of South Beach to this downtown desert town. Our most recent project completion was the renovation of our lounge bar, which is now The Parlour. We look forward to carrying on Vegas StrEATs which occurs the Second Saturday of each month and brings out some of the best art and gourmet food trucks in town.

While we were doing our part plenty of other people, groups, and business have been doing more than their fair share as well. Newest to the scene are Downtown Cocktail Lounge, Vanguard, Insert Coin(s) and soon to open Le Thai. So many great attractions have really revitalized the life force on Fremont. We are also hugely excited about the Smith Center which will bring culture in the performing and visual arts, as well as act as another focal point in Downtown. Let’s not forget the biggest powerhouse on the scene pushing downtown towards a new era of prosperity. Zappos.com is relocating to the former city hall building and bringing a life to the community that no one else could offer. They are opening and promoting all types of business and pushing the arts and entertainment. Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh along with 3 other investors have also bought First Friday and with a great group like that behind the event, we know great things lie on the horizon. It is truly incredible to be around such wonderful changes. No other place in the world is as unique or has the honor of calling themselves The Entertainment District in Downtown Las Vegas!

Our newest project is the painting of the exterior of the property. We’ve been here for 70 years and it’s time for a facelift. The project started a few weeks ago and we’re moving ahead at full steam! Once again we want to thank all the business, groups, and people that have poured so much time, dedication and excitement into our community and we look forward to what lies ahead.

Viva Las Vegas!
